For this concert Piva will be playing English and Italian secular music from the late 16th century and exploring the differences between the musical styles of the two countries. English musicians were famed on the Continent yet Italian styles and fashions were all the rage in England. The group performs in period costume using a range of historically accurate instruments including shawms, bagpipes, hurdy gurdies, curtals, sackbut, violin and guitar.
