Limited to 12 players, (advance booking
recommended), this course will include time with clavichord and
harpsichord in two rooms. You need no prior experience with
these early keyboards instruments to participate. Micaela will
guide players to achieving a good basic tone and an appreciation
of what these wonderful instruments can do for our keyboard
technique. The focus will be on Bach’s ever-useful Inventions
and the Well Tempered Clavier.
Some guidance on preparation:
For the Bach workshop, no, you do not need to prepare all the
48l! The inventions and sinfonias have a lot to teach us, so
don't feel pressured to prepare many. I find the
inventions in two parts a much better starting point than the 48
for those trying a new instrument. Try to bring something
you feel fairly comfortable playing on your regular instrument. |
