Barbara Dunn has been
calling dances for over 20 years. It all started during her
first post as a primary school teacher, where she taught folk
dancing; subsequently, during a career break, she began to play
for folk dancing in a dance band, playing flute and piccolo.
One
thing led to another so that gradually, she took on the role of
caller for several bands, firstly in Berkshire and more recently
in Worcestershire. She has always been passionate about Playford
dancing, and as well as playing recorders now for Stratford
Renaissance Dancers, she includes 17th Century dances in her
calling repertoire.
