Programme
Information:
What more need we say- two acknowledged masters with some absolutely
ravishing sonorities top close our little festival- the blend of
recorders and viol with the strum of the harpsichord in a most
appropriate Baroque setting. Absolutely no musical experience is
required to enjoy these delights. For those who want to know what’s on
the menu, we have Telemann fantasies on harpsichord, that will be
interspersed between trio sonatas in related keys, including some
obligato sonatas (that means the harpsichord part is all written out)
and continuo sonatas (the more usually kind where it’s a improvisation
fest). We’ll be sure to include a viol solo of course…. We encourage all
ages to come along- let your child falls asleep with his or her head on
your shoulder, but be sure to bring them. Singing and family listening
to great live music is where all good music education starts. And if
they don’t fall asleep to the pleasant strains, there will be plenty to
keep their attention- as we are a lively and talkative bunch who like to
engage with audiences!
Sorry, non-alcoholic drinks only. There are pubs close by if you need a
stronger tipple. Please note that it might be just as well if you need
the loo, as this lovely church has no toilets on site. Parking at St.
Martin’s Gate- walk down Mealcheapen St.
