Next Generation™ Early Keyboard Weekend

Friday 5pm, 25 May -Sunday 2pm, 27 May 2007
The ‘Next Generation™ Early Keyboard Weekend will be held at St Swithun's School near central Winchester, The United Kingdom. It will include activities open to the public, such as lectures and concerts, but its main focus will be a course for keyboard players of all levels, ages 16 and up. Tutors will be Bridget Cunningham, Steven Devine, Julian Perkins and Micaela Schmitz.

Students will have the opportunity to play harpsichord, clavichord, and fortepiano, receive coaching and advice, and try their hand(s) at different interpretations, with ample practice instruments available. Previous experience with an early keyboard is helpful but not necessary.

The workshop will include a showcase concert which is part of the Winchester Early Music Series, which also takes place in Winchester at the Milner Hall, St. Peter Street.

To apply, download a booking form (see below). A fee of £130 covers tuition, admission to all events, refreshments at breaks, and lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Students in full time education or unwaged participants may approach us for a work-study bursary and are encouraged to apply to their regular music conservatoires / schools, etc.
